Guide

Is Metricward right for you

A qualification guide, not a pitch. Who should not sign up today, who it does suit, and the specific gaps worth knowing before you rely on it.

Do not use Metricward if

  • You need deep Google Ads attribution: conversions flowing back into Ads bidding, remarketing audiences, a Google Ads integration. We don’t build one and aren’t planning to. See the honest GA4 comparison for where GA4 stays the better tool.
  • You need a mature app or integration ecosystem today: a large plugin marketplace, a dozen one-click connectors. That doesn’t exist yet.
  • You need SOC 2 or ISO 27001 evidence for a vendor security review right now. Neither certification exists, and neither does an external penetration test. See security for the complete list of what is and isn’t in place.
  • You want a free tool for a hobby site and genuinely don’t care where the data lives or who can access it. That’s a legitimate preference, not a mistake, and a lighter free tool serves it better than paying attention to EU residency you don’t need.

None of these are things to talk you out of. They are the actual answer for those situations, and we would rather say so here than after you have signed up.

Know this before you rely on it

If one of these is a dealbreaker, better to find out on this page than after a month of data is sitting in the product.

It suits you if

  • You are a European team who needs funnels, retention and segments without paying Mixpanel or Amplitude prices, and who wants the EU data control an enterprise customer’s security review will actually accept.
  • You are a developer who wants to install something themselves in a few minutes, get real event validation, and watch your first event arrive in a debugger that names the problem when nothing shows up rather than leaving you guessing.
  • You are replacing Google Analytics on a small business or content site and want real numbers without a consent banner that hides most of your traffic. Cookieless by default shrinks that question. It does not remove it, and we will not tell you otherwise.
  • You want to try before committing. The free plan is 10 000 events a month, 3 months of history, no card and no expiry, and it works today even though checkout doesn’t.
